My mother-in-law is 84 years old and no matter how many times we have cheesecake she always says it is nothing like Horn and Hardarts. Is there anyway I can get the recipe to surprise her? |

I don't have the H&H recipe but do recall the great cheesecake which was only matched by one that I had at the Aramingo Diner in Philly. If they're still there maybe someone can find the recipe you seek. Good luck! |

I think looking for a house-share aemangerrnt is a good idea. Actually, if you can find an older person who may need some transportation or other light help, you may be able to arrange very cheap room and board. |

You have three options as I see it. First like the first perosn said hulled with or without jelly. Second, mash strawberries with granulated sugar and beat the mixture to your desired consistency (great for shortcake too). Finally make a simple syrup, dice up strawberies and reduce to make your own strawberry syrup.INGREDIENTS1 cup white sugar1 cup waterDIRECTIONSIn a medium saucepan combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool. |
